Regular Ideas Regarding Training A Dog
So what makes a well behaved dog? Is it the dog's own personality and disposition or is it the training methods? Actually, it is a small amount of both. Similar to people some dogs are easy going and intelligent and other dogs are more difficult. Also, some dogs may react more positively to different training methods based upon their own personality. But any dog can be trained and there are many dog-training concepts that remain the same regardless of the training that you embark on.

Timing is critical when you're training a dog. We may give human characteristics to our dogs but dogs are not human and they do not understand human concepts. That means that if you want to correct your dog for pooping on the floor you must catch him in the act. If you learn the mess later and continue to correct him then there will be no clue why he is being reprimanded and your correction will be useless.

Next you need to make certain to be consistent. You cannot allow you dog to do things in some circumstances but not in others. You can't allow your dog to jump on you when you're wearing jeans but not let him jump on you if you are wearing a business suit. You can't allow your dog to chew an old shoe and not expect him to chew a new shoe. With a dog it is all or nothing. A dog does not comprehend the idea of "sometimes".

Corrections and praise are both crucial. Dogs will learn faster and easier when they get love and praise so ensure that you are letting your dog know when he is doing something right. Sometimes owners tend to do more corrections but praise and corrections are equally crucial.

Be certain to be authoritative and firm with your dog. When you issue him a command he must obey. If he does not follow through then show him but when you speak he must obey every time. A dog does not understand the concept of "sometimes".

Make training fun. You can always play games and have some fun when you are teaching and he is learning. Two of you will appreciate and enjoy it and the bond between you will deepen.

It's best to be fair and reasonable with your dog. He needs to clearly understand exactly what you would like. You can break up your training schedules into smaller parts if that will help but it is crucial that he clearly comprehends what he is expected to do. He can't please you if he doesn't know how.

Very Well trained canines will never cause their owners to be embarrassed. An individual may locate dog training videos on-line. A little bit of dog training may go a long ways.

Usually any dog can be well trained and well behaved but it is your responsibility as the owner to make certain he is. You must work with him as necessary and take his own personality into consideration.
